Michael W. Garland

Senior Associate 

Michael Garland is licensed in the State of Rhode Island and Commonwealth of Massachusetts and has been practicing law for over 30 years.  He has successfully tried cases in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and argued before the Rhode Island Supreme Court and Massachusetts Appeals Court.

Prior to his association with McKinnon & Harwood, Mr. Garland was Managing Attorney for the Harleysville Insurance and Nationwide Insurance Company’s staff counsel office in Worcester, Massachusetts and Associate Director of Litigation at the firm of Burns & Farrey in Worcester.  He has served on the Conservation Commission in Auburn, Massachusetts since 1995 and has been Chairman since 2014.

Mr. Garland graduated from Brandeis University with a Bachelor’s degree in Politics in 1979.  He obtained his Master’s degree in Teaching from Brown University in 1980 and law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 1986.
